A colleague at work sent round an email asking us to enter in to the spirit of things and join her in the programme of CPD23 activities. I didn't have a clue what she was talking about but thought I would have a go at signing up as she promised it will be a brilliant way for me to professionally develop.
I have spent a year away from work and returned in the Summer of 2010. It has taken a while to find my feet again but now that I have completed a full academic year I feel ready to start thinking more about my own professional skills and try and focus on upgrading my knowledge. Unfortunately, I have had a number of requests to attend external training programmes turned down by my department due to budget constraints so I was getting a bit down in the mouth about the whole thing. The idea of a self directed programme of activities that I can take part in with other online professionals for free is brilliant.
I am looking forward to later on in the programme when we look at presentation tools as this will coincide nicely with preparing Information Literacy workshops for next academic year.
